Week 3: Belief in Allah swt, His Messengers and Books
Assalamualaikum wr wb
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
This week we have discussed on Faith or Iman. As we know that there are 6 pillars of Iman, as stated in the famous Hadith Jibril. We need believe in Allah, His messengers, His books, His Angels, The day of Judgment and Fate and Destiny whether it is good or bad.
Believing in Allah is crucial to our Iman as how does one be a Muslim and not believe in the existence of Allah? We believe that Allah is Self sufficient and He does not give birth, nor was He born. And there's nothing like Him. Although we are not able to see him, naturally we believe that there is a higher supreme being existing which is Allah swt.
Another part of the pillars is believing in His Angels. Angels are a creation of Allah and they never fail to obey Allah’s orders and they were not created like humans as humans have their needs and wants such as sleeping or eating. They are sent down to reveal the message from Allah to the Messengers. The number of Angels existing is only known to Allah but the ones we know are Jibril,Izraeel,Israfil,Mikail,Raqeeb and Atid, Ridhwan, Maalik, Munkar and Nakir. Each of them has their own jobs specifically for them.
Last but not least is Believing in His Books, as the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w, we believe and follow the words of Allah in the Quran but we also need to believe in the existence of the other books that was revealed down before Islam came such as Zabur was revealed to Prophet Daud a.s, Taurah revealed to prophet Musa a.s and Injil was revealed to Prophet Isa a.s.
In conclusion, we have covered a few pillars of Iman. May this post be beneficial to tis readers. Wallahu a’lam bissawab.
