Week 6: Adab

Assalamulaikum wr wb Bismillahirrahmanirrahim Adab is one of the most important things a muslim needs to have. In fact not only muslims but also non muslims. With adab, you are most likely to be respected and loved by many as it is beautiful to be respectful of others. Adab is the decoration of ourselves. With a pretty face only we cannot really go far. We have to take care of our adab towards everyone and everything even towards animals. Firstly is our Adab towards our parents. We need to do our best and be in our best behaviours towards our parents. They do not deserve less, if they receive less than perfection from us it is wrong. We are in this world through them. Allah will not be please with us if our parents are not pleased. That is why Adab towards our parents is very important. Do our best to make them happy and assist them in everything. Secondly is our Adab towards our neighbours. It is crucial for us to have good ties with our neighbours and be considerate of them as t...

Week 5: Ihsan and Islamic Eschatology

Assalamualaikum wr wb Bismillahirrahmanirrahim This week’s post we will be talking about Ihsan and Islamic eschatology.  Ihsan means perfection and having Ihsan  is the Muslim responsibility to obtain perfection, or excellence , in worship, such that  Muslims  try to worship  God  as if they see Him, and although they cannot see him, they undoubtedly believe that He is constantly watching over them. That definition comes from the Hadith Jibril. We as muslims when we do things we do it in the best manner and put in all our efforts, for example when we have a job, we work not just because we have to but instead we work because Allah allows us to provide rizq in for ourselves and our family so it actually a favour from Allah swt. May Allah allow us to be  mukhsinin. We also covered about Islamic eschatology. What is Eschatology? Eschatology is  the part of theology concerned with death, judgement, and the final destiny of the soul and of humank...

Week 4: Believe in Rusul wal Anbiya, Qiyamah and Qada wa Qadr

Assalamualaikum wr wb Bismillahirrahmanirrahim In this. week’s post we will be continuing about the rest of the pillars of Islam. In the previous week we have talked about Believing in Allah, his angels and scriptures. In this post we will be talking about the beliefs in His Messengers, the day of judgment and fate and destiny. Believing in the messengers of Allah is very important as they are the ones who spread the message to their people. The muslim ummah as of today will not be existing without Prophet Muhammad s.a.w spreading Islam. The prophets are also human like us and they were chosen by Allah to spread the message of Allah to their people. There are 25 messengers that were mentioned in the Quran. The number of prophets and messengers whom was chosen by Allah are not very clear to us. Prophets and Messengers of Allah peace be upon them, plays a huge role in the spreading of Islam as they have sacrificed a lot in the sake of their ummah. We are also to believe in the day o...

Week 3: Belief in Allah swt, His Messengers and Books

Assalamualaikum wr wb Bismillahirrahmanirrahim This week we have discussed on Faith or Iman. As we know that there are 6 pillars of Iman, as stated in the famous Hadith Jibril. We need believe in Allah, His messengers, His books, His Angels, The day of Judgment and Fate and Destiny whether it is good or bad. Believing in Allah is crucial to our Iman as how does one be a Muslim and not believe in the existence of Allah? We believe that Allah is Self sufficient and  He does not give birth, nor was He born. And there's nothing like Him. Although we are not able to see him, naturally we believe that there is a higher supreme being existing which is Allah swt.  Another part of the pillars is believing  in His Angels. Angels are a creation of Allah and they never fail to obey Allah’s orders and they were not created like humans as humans have their needs and wants such as sleeping or eating. They are sent down to reveal the message from Allah to the Messengers. The number...

Week 2: Hadith Jibril

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim May this post be beneficial and insightful to readers. WEEK 2 In week to we have learnt about Hadith Jibril. It is a very known and famous hadith. It taught us about the important stages in the path towards Allah.  Jibril A.S came dressing in a very nice and clean way and sat respectfully and humbly in front of the Prophet SAW, what we can learn from this is that this is the etiquettes of a student. Show up to classes looking clean and care for the cleanliness of our surroundings. We are also obliged to respect the person who will be giving us the knowledges and be humble. Jibril then asked Rasulullah SAW about Islam, Iman and Ihsan.  As we know, the pillars of Islam are  1) Syahadah that there is no other god except Allah and Rasulullah s.a.w is the last messenger of Allah 2) Perform Solat 3)Pay the Zakat 4) Fast during the month of Ramadan 5) Perform Hajj if we are able to. All of the mention pillars has its purposes. We are only able to a...

Week 1: Adab During Online Class

Bismillahirrahmanirahim May this post be beneficial and insightful to the readers. Week 1 In the first lesson of Usrah that is guided by Sister Husna, we have learnt about Adab during online class. Students around the world have adapted to online classes since the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Online classes maybe favorable to some whereas some do no find it as so. Online classes has its advantages and disadvantages. We as students are responsible to discipline ourselves to listen to the classes and prevent ourselves from distractions, procrastinations and so on. Hence, to start disciplining ourselves we have to adopt a important morals (Adab) for the online classes. Adab 1 :To prepare ourselves mentally and physically for lessons. To do so, we are to always sleep early so as not to tire ourselves the next day and prevent ourselves from dozing off during class. It is definitely too easy for students to doze off and not get caught during classes. To prevent such th...
